It is with much sadness that we have to report the recent death of retired JP, Jim Horne.

Jim was initially appointed to the Stow on the Wold Bench. Following the amalgamation of the North Gloucestershire and Tewkesbury Benches with Cheltenham. Jim was appointed as the first Chairman. Jim was a very effective magistrate and made many friends throughout the county. He was also totally committed to his local area through his participation in local government and the hospital League of Friends, his shops in Stow and Moreton in the Marsh and of course his love of Gloucestershire County Cricket and was President. Jim organized annual ‘Bench Days’ for the magistrates at the Cheltenham Cricket Festival complete with marquee, good food, convivial company and relaxing drinks.
